This is the same sheriff that appointed Chuck Quackenbush as a deputy sheriff. Don't know who that is? Ask anyone from California who suffered under his corrupt tenure as Insurance Commissioner. In fact, Quackenbush fled the State to avoid prosecution, and he surfaces as a sworn peace officer in good ole boy Florida.

Personally I don't think a public servant on taxpayer's money should be attending political rallies and making speeches while on company time.

Of course he could have been taking a day off but his statement that "I am on duty 24/7 and 365 whether in or out of uniform." seems to imply that he was on taxpayers time.

Public servants need to realize that they are being paid by taxpayers on both sides of the fence to do their job and that campaigning for their favorite party at taxpayers expense is no different than sleeping on the job or sneaking off to see a movie.

This applies to Democrats and well as Republican public servants.

I suggest that Officer Scott either return his pay for that day or consider it a day off.

And we haven't even discussed whether he used a company car to get to the rally.
